Net metering and technical rules

  • Net metering is available under this scheme.
  • Net metering policy: CSERC Net Metering Regulations 2015 (amended 2022). 1 kW–500 kW. Single DISCOM: CSPDCL (all Chhattisgarh). Bastar remote areas: off-grid solar microgrids.
  • Gross metering policy: CSERC gross metering for >500 kW. NTPC has large solar projects in Raigarh district.
  • Hybrid policy: CG Solar + Coal Mine Reclamation policy: Korba and Raigarh districts coal mine land used for solar.
  • DISCOM requirements: CSPDCL: Single DISCOM for all Chhattisgarh. Remote Bastar villages: off-grid micro-grid electricity.

  • Target beneficiaries: All CG consumers. Key areas: Raipur (492xxx), Bilaspur (495xxx), Bhilai (490xxx), Durg (491xxx), Korba (495xxx), Jagdalpur/Bastar (494xxx). Bastar and Surguja tribal zones: off-grid solar priority.
  • Progress: Chhattisgarh: 2+ GW solar installed (April 2025). CREDA's Surya Ghar Muft Bijli (state version) — 50,000 roof top systems installed under state scheme.
