Net metering and technical rules

  • Net metering is available under this scheme.
  • Net metering policy: SERCM Net Metering Regulations 2019 (amended 2022). 1 kW–500 kW. Single DISCOM: Sikkim Power Department (state-run) — all Sikkim.
  • Gross metering policy: SERCM gross metering for >500 kW.
  • Hybrid policy: Sikkim Solar + Hydro hybrid: Teesta river system — large hydro + rooftop solar combination for green Sikkim mission.
  • DISCOM requirements: Sikkim Power Department: Single DISCOM for all Sikkim. High-altitude border areas: off-grid solar + BESS systems.
