Eligibility and disbursement
- Open to multiple consumer categories.
- Income restrictions: No income restriction; SC/ST and hill tribal populations get priority for off-grid solar.
- Disbursement timeline: 30–60 days post-commissioning
- Disbursement mode: DBT via UREDA; central enhanced CFA via UPCL/DISCOM
- Maximum capacity: 500 kW
Net metering and technical rules
- Net metering is available under this scheme.
- Net metering policy: UERC Net Metering Regulations 2017 (amended 2022). 1 kW–500 kW. Single DISCOM: UPCL (all of Uttarakhand). Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Uttarkashi: remote micro-grid schemes.
- Gross metering policy: UERC gross metering for >500 kW. PPA-based tariff for utility-scale projects.
- Hybrid policy: Uttarakhand Solar + Small Hydro hybrid policy 2022 for border remote areas.
- DISCOM requirements: UPCL: Single DISCOM for all Uttarakhand. Remote areas: off-grid solar microgrids under DDUGJY.
