Eligibility and disbursement

  • Disbursement mode: Direct bank transfer post DISCOM commissioning + GEDA verification

Net metering and technical rules

  • Net metering is available under this scheme.
  • Net metering policy: GERC Net Metering Rooftop Solar PV Regulations 2016, Fourth Amendment
  • 1 kW–1 MW eligible. Auto-approval up to 10 kW. 12-month energy banking. DISCOM liable ₹500/day for delays. DISCOMs: DGVCL, MGVCL, PGVCL, UGVCL, Torrent.
  • Gross metering policy: Available above 500 kW. Feed-in tariff ~₹3.00/unit (PM KUSUM Component-C, Jan 2025).
  • Hybrid policy: Solar + wind + BESS hybrid allowed; single-window via GEDA; incentives for 25 years.
  • DISCOM requirements: DGVCL (South Gujarat: Surat, Navsari, Valsad PIN 394xxx–396xxx), MGVCL (Central: Vadodara, Anand, Bharuch PIN 388xxx–393xxx), PGVCL (Saurashtra: Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Junagadh PIN 360xxx–365xxx), UGVCL (North: Ahmedabad rural, Gandhinagar, Mehsana PIN 380xxx–384xxx), Torrent Power (Ahmedabad city PIN 380001–380060).

Register; fill solar rooftop application with DISCOM details

Upload Aadhaar, bill, ownership proof

DISCOM auto-approves ≤10 kW

Select GEDA-empanelled vendor (5-year full-system warranty mandatory)

Installation within 90 days of registration

DISCOM inspection + net meter installation

Commissioning certificate issued

State top-up credited to bank account

  • Target beneficiaries: All Gujarat consumers. As of April 2026: Gujarat #1 in India — 5.31 GW+ rooftop installed. 3.36 lakh+ PM Surya Ghar systems (1,232 MW) — largest in India.
