Net metering and technical rules
- Net metering is available under this scheme.
- Net metering policy: TNERC (Rooftop Solar Power Plants, Net Metering and Grid Interactive Distributed Renewable Energy Sources) Regulations
- 1 kW–1 MW net metering. Annual energy settlement. DISCOM: TANGEDCO (all of Tamil Nadu); TNEB (Electricity Board parent entity).
- Gross metering policy: TNERC feed-in tariff for systems above 1 MW. Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corridor (TNGEC).
- Hybrid policy: TN RE Policy 2023 allows solar + wind hybrid in coastal + Tirunelveli wind zones.
- DISCOM requirements: TANGEDCO: All Tamil Nadu (zones: Chennai North/South/Central, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, Trichy, Vellore, Tirunelveli). TNEB: Parent body. Single-DISCOM state — simplified application.
