  • Disbursement mode: DBT via MeECL/MePDCL; state component via MeECL
  • Maximum capacity: 500 kW

Net metering and technical rules

  • Net metering is available under this scheme.
  • Net metering policy: MeERC Net Metering Regulations 2017 (amended 2021). 1 kW–500 kW. Single DISCOM: MePDCL (all Meghalaya).
  • Gross metering policy: MeERC gross metering for >500 kW. PPA-based for utility-scale.
  • Hybrid policy: Meghalaya Solar + Micro-hydro hybrid: abundant micro-hydro rivers combined with solar for round-the-clock power in hills.
  • DISCOM requirements: MePDCL: Single DISCOM for all Meghalaya. Very remote areas (South Garo Hills, West Khasi Hills): off-grid microgrids.
